Why a Mother-Daughter Show?

Together we've been staring at the world for 145 years. Shifts of light, changing seasons, nature's drama & beauty, all stop us in our tracks.

'Now tell me,how would you paint that?'  Maria often wonders aloud.   'What colors would you choose?  Which color would you put down first?  Wet brush or dry?'  It was a natural way to teach how to see and an invitation to interpret the world in a personal way.

Maria is a mother, teacher, photographer, painter, gardener, mover & shaker on several boards to help keep Cleveland vibrant. Nevertheless, throughout this decade (Maria's 9th) printmaking has really grabbed her attention. Time melts. Well past midnight her car may be last to leave the print-studio parking lot. Her energy and focus have only increased, now including frequent shows throughout northeast Ohio.

Lisa moved to Brooklyn in 1984, attended the Art Students League and earned an MFA at NYU.  She sculpted, potted, made intricate collages and stacks of watercolors.  These days she prefers oils.  Supple pigment can express the living magic of light. Whether landscape, seascape or portrait, understanding light as it weaves life is her goal. Lisa has shown work in Cleveland, New York, France and The Netherlands.

We've never shown work together, until now.

Our opening on SATURDAY, OCTOBER 20, 2018 was a great success.
